Imperial Zakatian Army
The Imperial Zakatian Army is known for two things: the fact it is the police force of Zakat and its effectiveness. The IZA has always been the police force of Zakat, as it saves perhaps millions of gold each year. Of course, some people see it as being extremely rough, but very few incidents have been reported. Each branch of the Imperial Zakatian Army—the Army, the Navy, and the Imperial Royal Guard—are each headed by their own Commandant, and all of them report only to the Emperor.
The standard armor of Zakat's military is that of the Model 99 Standard Combat Armor Reinforcement (SCAR). It is a medium plate armor with a cross-type visor. The actual helmet is one of the most unarmored portions, with the rear being only slightly more reinforced than chainmail. The visor is the only portion that is rigid. The left arm has a small shield-like addition to the pauldron that will have a soldier's unit name and emblem normally inscribed upon it. The armor also has a tunic that covers most of the front, save for the arms. The tunic does not provide any defensive bonuses, but it does help identify soldiers. The Imperial Army has blue tunics while the Imperial Navy has red tunics.

Getting into more specialized roles, there is the Model 103 Advanced Light Combat Armor Reinforcement (ALCAR). The Model 103 is one of the most uniquely Zakatian armors there is. The armor itself is barely enough to stop most arrows, save for the extremely-reinforced helmet. The Model 103 is used only by combat riflemen, who must carry large steam tanks on their back. The tanks are capable of sustaining themselves for 5 hours of extended combat without running out of steam for Zakat's steam rifles. These soldiers are set apart from the other standard soldiers from a distance by having a solid white tunic. They also have a unique gas mask that allows them to breathe in cool air, keeping their lungs healthy while still firing the steam rifles.
There is also the officer's armor, the Model 100 SCAR. The Model 100 is like the Model 99, in that it is a medium plate armor. The visor is now a "W" instead of a cross. The Model 100 does not have any portion that shows the unit he commands like the Model 99 has. That was an oversight that was easily rectified by attaching a sash that shows the unit's name and a cape with the unit's emblem.
However, soldiers aren't always wearing armor. The normal uniform is a drab blue with breast pins that show what one's rank is. The Military Police is always seen in the normal uniform, unless otherwise noted (things such as SWAT teams are normally in armor instead). The uniform is able to be seen from afar due to the large white puff at the top of the hat. This has caused the nickname of "Rabbithead" to be given to members of the Military Police.
Imperial Zakatian Navy
The Imperial Zakatian Navy may not be as well-known as the Army. It may not be as feared as the Army. But it should be. Why? The Imperial Navy has the most firepower out of all of the branches. Although they use ships with rotating turrets, most battles are done in line formation almost as a show of 'honor.' The Imperial Navy is organized under the Grand Admiral. The Grand Admiral is served by a handful of Fleet Admirals with multiple admirals, vice-admirals, and rear admirals under each Fleet Admiral. Cadets are allowed to serve on ships upon passing the entrance exams.
Imperial Royal Guard
The other side of Zakat's military is the Imperial Royal Guard. These are the elites of the elites. They guard the Emperor, his or her family, his or her residences, the members of the Grand Council, and anyone or anything the Emperor asks them to. They are highly trained and selected from promising recruits and soldiers of the Imperial Army and Imperial Navy. However, they are outside of the normal chain of command. The Imperial Royal Guard will only accept orders from their commanding officers, and the commandant only answers to the Emperor. The Imperial Royal Guard, however, can give orders to soldiers of the normal military. Any situation in which the Imperial Royal Guard appears, they take control.
The Imperial Royal Guard's armor is different from the normal military's. It is also full plate, but far more durable than a standard soldier's. The armor is known as the Model 110 Specialized Heavy Armor Reinforcement (SHAR). The Model 110 has a slit-type visor. The helmet can be made airtight with the flip of a switch (rather, the moving of a small metal plate) and connects to small air tanks capable of holding 1 hour's worth of air. The armor has slots for three of the IRG's standard pistols, as well as a sword and a rifle. All of those are standard equipment for the Imperial Royal Guard, as they are the only ones allowed to carry weapons within Iserlohn.

The soldiers of Zakat have a specialized assortment of weapons. There is a dagger, a short sword, a broadsword, a halberd, and a shield, which are the standard armaments. Officers are given a decorative sword that are to be carried with them at all times. Some soldiers are given Zakat's standard bolt-action rifle, the Model 450. These are mainly given to rear support and defense soldiers. Steam Riflemen are given either the Model 490 or Model 491 Steam Rifle. All riflemen are given a sidearm, the P47 9mm pistol. Military Police are given a nonlethal pellet-firing pistol as a deterrent. The Imperial Royal Guard has its own ranged weapons, which are the Model 495 rifle and Model 495S pistol.

- Model 490 Steam Rifle:
Name: Model 490 Steam Rifle
Description: Not pictured is the most important part of the Model 490—the steam tanks and boilers. Unlike normal rifles, the Model 490 is not a powder-charged gun. Instead, it uses extreme high pressure steam to fire projectiles. This is why there is a large hose attached to the bottom of the rifle. They have a small tank built into the frame that can hold enough steam for a single shot. Normally, mobile Model 490 users have micro-boilers, which are backpack-carried boilers meant to provide steam for the rifle. However, these are expensive and heavy, making them ineffecient for quick troop movements and rugged terrain. The Model 490 is most effecient at defense, where full-sized boilers can provide steam to many Model 490s are one time.
Rarity: Uncommon to see, as they are bulky weapons, but Zakat does have quite a few in its arsenal.
Location(s) Found: Only in Zakat
Notes:
Length: 67" (170cm)
Caliber: 13mm (.50-450) (no black powder)
Action: Semi-automatic* (must wait for steam to build before another shot can be fired)
Fire Rate: 6 per minute
Effective firing range : 750 yd (685 m)
Maximum firing range: 1,000 yd (910 m)
Feed system: Single-shot, breech-loaded
Sights: Adjustable open ironsights; optional telescopic scope
- Model 491 Steam Rifle:
Name: Model 491 Heavy Steam Rifle
Description: Not pictured is the most important part of the Model 490—the steam tanks and boilers. Unlike normal rifles, the Model 491 is not a powder-charged gun. Instead, it uses extreme high pressure steam to fire projectiles. This is why there is a large hose attached to the bottom of the rifle. They have a small tank built into the frame that can hold enough steam for a single shot. Normally, mobile Model 491 users have micro-boilers, which are backpack-carried boilers meant to provide steam for the rifle. However, these are expensive and heavy, making them ineffecient for quick troop movements and rugged terrain. The Model 491 is most effecient at defense, where full-sized boilers can provide steam to many Model 491s are one time.
The difference between the Model 490 and the Model 491 is caliber and pressure. The Model 491 is not anti-personnel, but anti-armor. Its much larger calbier requires more steam, and thus the area aroudn the barrel is increased to hold a much larger amount of steam. Unfortunately, the large amount of steam does not change the fact the Model 491 has a very short range compared to the Model 490. The Model 491, however, does allow for mounting much easier, as it is a completely circular tube for a barrel (save for the removable ornate front sights). Thus, it is more common to see Model 491s mounted on walls, ships, or even lage vehicles than it is to see someone carrying one.
Rarity: Very rare to see, as they are bulky weapons, but Zakat does have a few in its arsenal.

Maximum firing range: 500 yd (460 m)
Feed system: Single-shot, breech-loaded
Sights: Ironsights
- P47 Pistol:
Name: P47 Pistol
Description: The distinctive characteristics of the P47 are the integral box magazine in front of the trigger, the long barrel, the wooden shoulder stock which can double as a holster or carrying case and a grip shaped like the handle of a broom. The grip earned the gun the nickname "Broomhandle" because of its round wooden handle, and the "box cannon" because of its square-shaped internal magazine and the fact it could be holstered in its wooden box-like detachable stock.
Rarity: Uncommon
Location(s) Found: Only in Zakat
Notes:
Length: 12.3 in (312 mm)
Caliber: 9×19mm Parabellum

- N4 Pistol:
Name: N4 Pistol
Description: The N4 pistol is a unique pistol in that it uses springs and compressed air to fire nonlethal pellets. These pellets could be lethal if swallowed or shot into an eyeball or something, but they're more used to make someone stop running. They're called "pillbox pistols" because when an officer runs, it sounds like pills shaking around.

- Model 495 Rifle & Model 495S Pistol:
Name: Model 495 Rifle & Model 495S Pistol
Description: First developed as a sporting and hunting rifle, the Model 495's design was quickly swept up by the Imperial Royal Guard. The Imperial Royal Guard had been using the Model 450, but it being a bolt-action made it hard to protect the Emperor in cases where they were under fire from fast-moving targets. The Model 495, with its higher rate of fire, proved to be of use in such situations. As it uses a rifle cartridge that feeds from a tube magazine, the Model 495 is unable to use the standard 8x60mm cartridge. This was because it used a pointed bullet, which meant that upon firing with a full magazine, the pointed tip of one of the bullets could impact the primer of the cartridge in front of it with enough force to cause the round to fire inside the magazine. This problem was solved by developing a rounded bullet to be used in the same case as the regular 8x60mm cartridge for use in the Model 495. It proved to be so effective that the Imperial Royal Guard now has a shortened version as a sidearm.
Rarity: Common
