Personality: Joan is seen as distant and aloof. She always has a longing gaze, especially indoors. Many times, it takes calling her name two or three times to get her attention. This is especially true while hunting or tracking with Sherwood. To newcomers to Aria Grand, they wonder why she's so cold. It usually ends up with laughter from eavesdroppers. Joan is not cold. She is far from it. She is clingy, mischevious, and downright heartwarmingly kind. She's just longing to be outside. Joan daydreams a lot more than is healthy, especially indoors. But once someone has her attention, she might just talk their head off. And once she goes outside, Joan never daydreams.

Joan knows loyalty like no other. Sherwood is the only part of her former life that remains, and even when they were practically starving, the animal stayed with her. She will kill anyone who hurts Sherwood, and will punch anyone who insults him. Joan knows how loyal dogs can be, and she has a bit of an admiration for that. It's something she personally strives to match, but she knows she can't. Her loyalties are much tighter than a normal person's though. It takes something major for her to lie to someone. She also never eats another person's food without getting express permission from them.

Something that people don't realize about Joan is how aggressive and teritorial she can be. Joan is most definitely dominant when it comes to the bedroom. It's not something many people know. Only the women she's comfortable talking about her fantasies know how dominant she really is. It's a secret she keeps well-hidden. Joan, in private with someone she loves, is a completely different animal. She'll push them down on whatever surface is nearest the moment she's feeling like having sex. She'll bite, scratch, and ride long and hard.

Character Background: Joan was an only child. Her father, Francis, was a very successful merchant. Joan's mother was his university sweetheart, and they had been happily married for four years before Joan was born. Joan was raised to be a prim and proper lady. She was taught how to dance, how to curtsy, and how to properly be courted. She even had an arranged marriage. Joan loved the lifestyle of the rich. She loved the clothes, the parties, and the gossip. But her father did take his only child on one non-feminine outing: the hunt.

Joan's father had a bloodhound like no other. Her name was Georgia, named after his "bitch of an aunt." Georgia was a beautiful dog and Joan took to the animal from a very young age. Georgia was only a few years younger than Joan herself, and she helped raise the pup. When her father went on a hunt, Joan would tag along behind him. She wouldn't do any of the killing, but would carry things for her father and keep Georgia in check. She learned many things while on the hunt, and she enjoyed every minute of it. Most of her free time was spent outside, playing with Georgia or in the forests near their manor. Georgia eventually had a litter of puppies, and Joan was allowed to keep one for herself. She found one and named him Sherwood.

Only a year after getting Sherwood, Joan's parents died. Joan, her parents, Georgia, and Sherwood were all staying at a hunting lodge one winter. It caught fire, and Joan would have died too had Sherwood not bit her arm to wake her up. She couldn't get upstairs to save her parents, but she and Sherwood were able to stay alive. She ran outside and to the nearest lodge, and soon many people tried to put out the fire. It was too late, and the entire lodge was soon engulfed. Joan's parents' manor was passed to her, but the money was nowhere to be found. Joan found out that they were broke, due to a failure in their father's business.

Joan was able to keep the house, as she needed somewhere to live. She sold most of their land and furnishings from inside of the house to allow her to pay taxes and buy food, but even that wasn't enough. Unable to keep up with the upkeep, Joan soon abandoned the house and tried to find a job, but she wasn't able to. She had skills that weren't useful. It wasn't until the winter of her 18th birthday that her life took the only good change it had in years. She was hungry and on the streets of Aria. She was thinking of going back to her manor, but she couldn't make it through the snow that was piling up outside of the city. A white-haired young woman came across her and Sherwood, and took the two of them to the guild of Aria Grand. There, Joan was able to get warmed up and fed. As was Sherwood. When Joan asked how to repay them, she stopped the young woman from answering. She gave a wide smile. "I want to join. I'll pay you back by joining." After being accepted, Joan soon was able to make enough money to afford a single, bi-weekly gardener and maid for her manor.

Equipment: Joan carries a hunting knife and trail rations.
Skills: Joan is a master hunter. She is particularly good at boar and deer hunting, and she knows how to best utilize the carcass. Joan is also a master at taking care of animals, especially dogs. She can effectively understand a dog more than a normal person, and she can understand Sherwood better than anyone could imagine. She can almost talk to the animal.

Sherwood: Sherwood is not a piece of equipment, nor is he a skill. Sherwood is Joan's massive bloodhound. He is 6 years old, and he loves Joan. Sherwood has a dark red coat that makes him beautiful. He might slobber a lot, but he's always by Joan's side. He is house-trained and won't chew or bark unless necessary. He will attack anyone that hurts Joan, and he will be friendly with anyone Joan is friendly to. He especially likes Serenity Verdant when she comes around, so much so that Joan has to keep Sherwood from tackling her to the floor...
