Personality: Confused by her own choices, Hanna has put herself in a strange situation based off of the opinions of others. After being told that her brother would be better not knowing of their Mother, she has lived for years allowing everyone to think that her little brother, Jacob, is her son. To protect Jacob, she tells people that she's ten years older than she actually is. With the effects of Arcana on most people keeping them young, this is an easy lie to keep up with. Though there are times it feels a little strange, she's gotten used to looking at her little brother like her very own child.

Hanna was forced to grow up at a very young age because of her situation. She didn't have a full childhood and had to take on the job of being an adult very quickly. Due to her maturity, she takes on more than most people her age would have and usually succeeds at it. She's had many jobs in the past and has quite a few more skills than others. A few examples of her skills include cooking, cleaning, sewing, interior design, teaching, herbalism, hair styling, and secretarial work. Hanna is very adaptable and has an easy time learning, so she often picks up new skills at the drop of a hat.

Hanna does not think of herself as a Mother most of the time. It's what she has to be and she doesn't know how to tell Jacob the truth about it. Jacob has never asked about it, but the two of them do not look alike and Hanna fears the day that Jacob brings it up. She already has a plan to tell him that he takes after his Father, which is true. All of her siblings took after their Father more than their Mother. In fact, Hanna was the only one born with the pink colored hair that their Mother had. It's a trait that she's not entirely sure that she likes anymore because of who her Mother has become.

Hanna has more to her than just being a Mom. She's still young and wants to have fun. There are certain stigmas that come with being a Mother, which has messed her up in the past. For one, since people she meets thinks she's ten years older than she actually is, men that are way to old hit on her. Secondly, being a Mother implies you've had sex and been with a man or two. Hanna has never even had a boyfriend because she's concentrated on keeping Jacob safe. Now that things are calming down, she has been thinking about putting herself out there. However, how can she really do that?

Hanna's frustrations from her confusing and rather limited life have caused her to sometimes give a little bit more attitude to people than she wants to. She has this habit of saying "What the hell do you know?", "You don't know anything about me!", or "Stop acting like you have a clue! You don't!" Hanna hasn't met anyone, not even a friend, that she has felt comfortable with telling the truth. The moment she does, she knows someone is going to let her actual age slip or even the fact that she's not Jacob's mother. She is scared to death about how he will handle that news, so she keeps it from him.

Character Background: Hanna group up normally. She had her Mother and her Father by her side. She had an older sister and a younger brother. They lived peacefully in the city of Taria. This is where Hanna grew up. Things were fine and dandy until she came home one day and found her Mother and Father arguing. Her Mother was caught cheating on her Father with his best friend. They fought for hours, the three kids forced to sit and listen to them. When things finally calmed down, their parents agreed to try and work things out for the sake of their children. This Hanna didn't understand.

When Hanna turned twelve, she and her three year old brother were out getting groceries. Little Jacob wanted to go out and help his big sister, so she took him with her. This saved her brother's life. When the two returned home, Hanna found a note from her parents that told them to meet her on the outskirts of town. It was over a mile into the jungle. This request was more than odd, but Hanna did what her parents asked and took Jacob out there. When she arrived, she found her Mother sitting on her Father's corpse. Her older sister, Heather, lay there dead as well. Her Mother was smiling.

With Jacob crying for his Father and Hanna holding the little guy back, their Mother stood up and walked to them. Hanna picked Jacob up and held him away from her only to be stabbed in the side. Her Mother took Jacob from her and closed her eyes, "You're free. I'll take care of him now." Her Mother tried walking away, but Hanna panicked and grabbed a rock. She slammed it into her Mother's head, grabbed Jacob, and ran as fast as she could. It didn't take long for her to hear her Mother screaming for her to come back. She was being chased. Hanna kept running until she got to the road.

Hanna ran along the dirt road away from Taria while bleeding out. She tried to console Jacob, but he kept crying and crying. With a bit of luck, Hanna found herself crossing paths with a man on a horse and begged him to help her. "She's gonna kill us, please!" Hanna begged. The man heard her Mother yelling and saw the blood soaked woman running with a large knife in hand. "Come on. Get up here." he said and pulled her up onto the horse. With concern for the two children he just helped, this man turned and rode his horse hard until they came to a near by inn. It was just a place for travelers.

This man, who's name was Vaughn something - she cannot remember his last name, helped Hanna get herself and her little brother to safety. He alerted the authorities of Hanna's Mother, but she was never found. After a few months of searching, the hunt was called off and Hanna was moved to Varedia. She lived there for two years before her Mother found them again. Hanna escaped with Jacob by jumping onto a train and going wherever it took them. She ended up in Arbas, but didn't think it was safe to move only one town over. She kept going until she got to Colburn and enrolled in Rydian.

Hanna and Jacob were able to make it in Colburn, with the help of Professor Vonnera, for four years. This was enough for Hanna to gain control over her Arcana and learn some minor self-defense. She would have been able to learn more, but she became a Mother. She did not get pregnant, but one day she realized her little brother was calling her Mommy. For a while, she didn't know what to do about it, so she got some help from the advisors at school. They told her that he didn't really remember his actual Mother and it would be best for his development not to know what really is going on.

Now a Mother and big sister, Hanna has lived the rest of her years in fear of the day her Mother will once again show up to try and kill her and Jacob. She now refers to Jacob only as her son and keeps their actual relationship a secret for his sake. She's graduated Rydian and moved away from Colburn to the town of Elmwood. She lived there for two years and then moved again to avoid the chance that her Mother would show up. She then lived for two years in Daywood and moved again. Now she and Jacob are living in Ardale. Hanna only hopes that her Mother won't find them and they'll be safe.

Magic

Type: Arcanist
Description: When Hanna enrolled in Rydian, she worked hard to figure out what her power would be. She couldn't get the hang of majorly offensive arcane, so she settled for something that would allow her to escape. She's practically mastered what she knows, but doesn't realize that she has the ability to extend her power. For now, Hanna has the ability to walk through solid objects. Any thing that she chooses to allow can come with her as well. This means that she can pull someone through a wall with her or make an ice attack go straight through them. She has to be touching them to do this correctly. For now, if she let's go of them, her Arcana doesn't keep the connection, so they're solid again.

Combat

Equipment: N/A
Skills: Hanna has trained in basic self-defense. She wouldn't be able to fight a full on battle, but she can hold her own against two or three opponents. However, Hanna is a runner. This is what she does to work out. She runs like crazy and makes sure that Jacob does as well. Because of this, she's upped her speed and endurance quite a bit. She also has upped her strength for the sake of Jacob as well. If he ever falls, gets hurt, is knocked out, or anything like that, she's made sure that she has the ability to get him out of danger and to safety. A natural +10 to speed, strength, and endurance.
