The Eyllisghymn Clan
The Eyllisghymn clan is an old clan, and their name translates to "Lands of the Forgotten Ways." They hold tightly to old Elven ideals. However, their ideals are the old style, and are thus more primal. For men, this means that they are to be strong warriors, protectors, and husbands. They are to be the trunks that support the trees. For women, this means that they are to be beautiful, elegant, and lustful. They are to the be the flowers that keep the forest alive. Polygamy is a part of Eyllisghymn culture, although wives are the ones who claim husbands. This isn't meant to be for love, there is another term for the one they love, "Onae Khessven." Onae Khessven translates roughly to "Loyal Lover." One may only have a single Onae Khessven at a time. The clan is known for their women's dancing to Lisanthria and their men's blood offerings of a fresh kill from a hunt to Doran.
Location: In the caverns in mountains southwest of Jeralerd
Leadership: The Eyllisghymn is led by a single clan leader, who makes all decisions on clan-based matters. When it comes to religious ceremonies, the High Priestess is who makes those decisions. The succession is weird, and is not entirely by blood. If a clan leader has a son, he will inherit the clan leader's position. If he has a daughter, then she will become the High Priestess. If he has no son before he dies, then the High Priestess chooses the next clan leader. The High Priestess, during pregnancy, is fed special herbs and berries to boost the chance that her child is a female to nearly 100%. There is no way to guarantee a male child, so it is impossible for the clan leader's wives to have a similar mixture. When the High Priestess has a daughter, she will become the next High Priestess. If the clan leader has a daughter too, the clan leader's daughter will become the next High Priestess.
Clan Population: 205 (82 males, 123 females)
Leader: Vonia Eyllisghymn
Clan Members:Allied Clans: Currently none.
Enemy Clans: Currently none that the Eyllisghymn see as enemies. Few travel to get to their home, so if there is animosity, the Eyllisghymn do not know of it.
