    Lonely [Open] Empty Lonely [Open]

Post by Schnockles Sun Oct 05, 2014 6:50 pm

The vast stretches of unclaimed land, untouched by the nations of man.  Often considered by many to be wild and dangerous lands.  Indeed, outside of the protection of city walls and the armies of man, the world can be harsh and cruel.  Yet, the wilds also contain a beauty in them unmatched, the beauty of nature.  Those used to the safety of a city might find it harsh, but those who know the land and how to work it can see it.  In one such area of nature, a gentle breeze blew.  The sun was high in the sky, and few clouds dared intrude upon it's domain.  Animals bustled about, and the gentle sound of leaves almost echoed across the land.  Even the plants seemed to move, attempting to soak in the life giving rays of the sun with their bright green leaves.  It was as if nature itself had come to life, all living things as one, as if a single organism, in order to accept the gifts of the sun.  Even the carnivores, which relished the bustling about of their food sources, seemed to simply accept the beautiful day for what it was.  Such was the way of nature on this day, in the forests South of the Black Steppes.  In contrast to the nearby poisoned Weald, which reeked of danger and corrupted energies, this forest bathed in harmonious energies.  Out on this day was an elf.  An elf, of average height with long, silky dark hair, sat out bathing in the beauty of this nature.

From her seat atop a large cool gray rock, she gazed out at a nearby pond.  The gentle breeze caused a slight ripple in the pond as it reflected the sun, causing the water, and even the air above it, to shimmer and almost sparkle.  A light smile lined her lips, a light smile and yet somehow it seemed as if it carried far more weight than it would first appear.  The elf's outfit was akin to a formal school uniform in human terms, a white shirt under a buttoned uniform that was simultaneously a dress.  Her legs would be largely bare if not for the stockings that reached slightly above the knee.  Granted, the outfit meant little, it did not specifically signify anything besides that the girl found it somewhat comfortable.  She looked up to the trees as some birds began to chirp, beautifully entwining with the rest of nature in song.  Even the elf thought that the forest was unusually beautiful today, there was something otherworldly and supernatural about the scene.  She couldn't help but think maybe it was a sign, of what though she did not know.  Occasionally she would look around, hearing some noise and turning to see what it is, but she figured it would just be some animal or other creature of the forest.  If one looked upon the scene they would merely see an Elven girl enjoying the beauty, however they would not truly know what they look upon.  For this was not some random elf, this was Xecty Ein, head of the Ein clan.  And any passerbys would have no way of seeing that beneath the gentle smile, that which swirled around in her head were anything but harmonious.  No, harmony did not make it's home in the depths of her mind.  The waters within this girl's mind were turbulent, violent, and troubled.  Anyone who passed by could never understand the chaos within her mind, not unless they could see past the facade and see the sadness in her eyes.

Still, this young woman was used to having to function under such conditions.  After a time of enjoying the scenery the best she could, the elf hopped up off of the rock and began to walk off.  She came out from the pond and headed back to a lightly traveled path.  This path wasn't usually traveled by her people, so that meant it was more than likely travelers who used it, but it was far enough away from her clan that no one usually found it.  As she came through some brush separating the path from the rest of the forest though, he foot caught on a branch.  "Waaagh."  She called out as she fell to the ground, her foot twisting as it happened.  She face planted right into the dirt, before rolling over and holding her foot in apparent pain.  She had twisted her ankle.  She clutched onto her foot for a bit, hoping it wasn't sprained.  Attempting to stand, she yelped out in pain and quickly fell back to the dirt.  Yes, while the forest was in perfect harmony, harmony didn't seem to have a place in this girl's heart.  Tis a shame.

The trip was a lot longer than she thought it would be. Day after day, Melinda made her way through the valleys, hills, and forests that were between the last town and Colburn. That was her goal. Today, the sun was high above the trees of this forest, beautifully vibrant greenery shone around her in every direction her eyes may take. Melinda took in a deep breath, inhaling the crisp air. It was so much fresher, cleaner than in any of the cities. Nothing could compare to the vast stretches of unclaimed land that she traveled through today. Her boots clicked upon a few rocks as she passed over a grassy path. The path was old and not exactly taken care of, but the rocks laid down by generations before her own time still allowed travelers guidance through the thickness of the trees. She hopped over a few over-ground roots, careful not to trip and fall as she continued her journey. It was silent and calm. The air began to move as she turned a small corner. A breeze blew through, caressing her fair skin with a gentle touch, lifting the thick braided hair from her back and blowing it only slightly. She smiled and took in that clean air once more.

"Wonderful..." she spoke to herself in a quiet whisper. Along the path, she heard nothing coming. She made out a few sounds: birds chirping, leaves brushing against each other from the breeze that blew through, and the occasional tapping of small animals running through the grasses and up the trees. She was completely unaware of the incoming young woman, young elf. "Waaagh." Melinda's eyes widened as she darted behind a tree for cover. She froze there, as silent as a mouse. She waited for a few moments, wondering if she were, for some reason, under attack by someone, but as she turned her attention around the trunk, she blinked in astonishment at what she came to see. "An... elf..." she thought, continuing to watch her. Rumors of Elves coming from the forests were common, but she never saw one herself. The extremely long ears were a dead give away on this one. She continued peeking around the corner, watching. Elves were a completely different creature in her mind. There was times she wondered whether they weren't even humanoid, but tiny monsters that liked hiding in the trees.

Obviously, by seeing this one, she was wrong. This one was on the clumsy side and had apparently hurt herself in her fall. Melinda thought up the pros and cons of stepping out and making herself known, but the moment the young Elf stood to walk and practically fell to the ground, out of pure reflex, Melinda darted forward and caught the woman from completely falling. "I've got you..." she said, but doubted this girl even understood her language. The moment the Elf would look toward her, she'd give a soft smile, hoping that she wouldn't be attacked for suddenly appearing, but she wouldn't exactly blame her either.

"Steady now, steady..." The man grunted quietly as he stared down the sights of his bow, focussing completely on the life-force that was in front of him. A deer had made its way into his sight, and it looked old enough that he'd be able to take it down and not stress about losing out on the system of the forest. He had been in Arcadia for quite some time recently; owing this to a want for a trip. It was lovely--untamed, beautiful land--it didn't compare to the ruggedness of Brauk, but at the same time... He pulled back on the bowstring and took in a deep breath of air. The first shot was fired as he exhaled, flying straight and true. Straight and true into the trunk of the tree next to the damn animal. "Damn it all." The deer made a loud noise and started running away from the arrow, and Drake was too far away from the deer originally to safely give chase. He kept his Lifesense on it for as long as was humanly possible, before sighing, turning it off and just letting it go, sitting with his back against the trunk of the tree, one leg off of the side of the large bough. "Guess I was too focussed on my target, eh?" He laughed bitterly to himself, looking up at the sky through the canopy of the trees, watching the clouds go by through the filtered blue. "I'll have to find food at some point. I have some gold, but I'd like to hunt and kill my meals--a good deer could last me the week. Blah." He grumbled to himself and leaned forwards, looking down at the ground below. He was only about twenty feet up. He could easily drop and land safely. As he turned his body to do so, he heard a yell of pain--and with that yell, lost his balance and fell to the ground, landing with a loud grunt. "G-gaaagh..." He waited until the initial pain had subsided, before getting to his feet and checking himself over. His body was fine, as were his tools. Thank goodness for that.

Taking a moment to compose himself, he turned on his Lifesense again, recognizing two figures not too far from where he was. They seemed humanoid. Good. He started moving through the underbrush as quickly as he could, moving as if he had lived in this kind of forest for his entire life, finally breaking through into a clearing. He took a moment to look around and disable the Lifesense, watching the two girls interact. One appeared to be in some strange uniform of a formal school, while the other was similarly not dressed for the forest. He grumbled to himself about 'newcomers'. As the younger-looking one appeared to get to her feet, she yelped and fell again. "I've got you..." He looked them over slightly more, recognizing the long ears as being Elven. He mumbled something else, and then placed his hands on his hips. He wasn't sure if Elven physiology was the same, or if it was different enough to human that trying to help would actually harm her more--but he figured he should at least be able to soothe the pain. He was yet to make his presence known, instead activated his secondary sense--his Naturesense--and started hunting for the plants and herbs he'd need. He moved quickly around the small glade, happy to know that these plants were readily available and close by. He gathered them all up and, finally reaching the water's edge, looked at the pair with a gruff smile. "Don't mind me, just whipping up a salve for that ankle of yours." He turned his head away and dipped a small bottle in the water, producing some and spending several seconds mixing the plants together--a mortar and pestle was whipped out, and eventually a dark green sludge was made in the bottle. He handed it to the pair, "Use it or don't, I don't mind either way. It won't help the ankle, but it'll at least soothe the pain enough for you to be able to walk on it." He nodded, hoping that his sudden intrusion--or his rather frightening appearance--did not scare either woman off. He simply wished to help. "Oh righ'. Y'rub it on the ankle. You don't drink it."

Xecty was most certainly not expecting to be caught by someone. Her heart skipped a beat for a quick moment. Was it someone from her village? That would only make her day worse, not better. She could tell from the feeling of the hands that it was a woman. Then she heard the voice. "I've got you..." She didn't recognize it, which should have been comforting. Or rather, maybe it was just less stressful. Still, whomever caught her seemed to do it out of kindness, it was not the voice of someone there to reprimand or judge. Xecty attempted to put her weight on her feet so that she could scurry to a safe distance from the strange, but that failed as she let out another small sound of pain from her lips. "Th-thanks." She nervously said before putting most of her weight on her good foot and turning, standing on her own 2 (mostly one) feet. She finally turned and managed to look the woman in the eyes, and get a look at her. She was...kinda pretty. She was dressed oddly, but even Xecty knew she was dressed oddly for what she was, so she wasn't going to judge this woman on it. "I'll be fine th..."

That is when she noticed it, this woman's ears. They...they weren't pointy! They were the ears of a human. "Eep!" She jolted back slightly startled, but it turned into an eep as she accidentally placed weight on her foot and fell to the ground again. "Ow." She simply said. She looked back to the woman. Before she had had a soft smile on her face, of course that smile may have disappeared upon seeing her collapse to the ground. Shy or not, this woman didn't seem like someone to really fear. "I'm sorry, I didn't expect it to be someone like you...I don't mean that in any offensive manner of course." She scratched the back of her head. Smooth Xecty, smooth. That's when she heard someone else, and her head darted in that direction. Xecty sure seemed jumpy. "Don't mind me, just whipping up a salve for that ankle of yours." This voice came from a man...a rather intimidating looking man, at least in Xecty's eyes. Xecty was a little scared now, and as soon as she got a good look at the man her arms wrapped around one of the woman's legs and latched on out of fear. After a moment, she recollected herself and realized that she may have overreacted a bit. "Huh? No need, my ankle is just fine, see?"

Xecty went to stand, stamping her injured foot on the ground a few times before an exaggerated look of pain overcame her face. "Who am I kidding..." She said as she took the salve as the man offered it. She sniffed it first, making sure it wasn't poison. That was when the man reassured her she had to put it on her ankle, not drink it. "I see..." She said as she crouched down and did her best to apply it, granted applying it herself was a little awkward. It might have helped if someone helped her. However it got applied though, after a short time the pain did start to die down. "It seems to have worked, thank you very much." Xecty stood on her feet, it still hurt but not nearly as bad, and did a polite bow, hands in front of her body. She was incredibly nervous right now and didn't want to offend anyone, and while part of her wanted to hide in a hole another part wanted to learn a little about these two. "My name is Xecty Ein, nice to meet you." She did the polite thing really well, though the combination of politeness and extreme shyness was an odd combination.

The shocked eep the young woman made when looking at Melinda, caused the pink haired woman to raise an eyebrow at the Elven girl. "Are you alright?" she asked curiously, her tone more confused than worried. Melinda didn't understand the shock that was shown; she could tell the girl was not of human race, but it didn't bother her. She went over to help the girl sit up, "Calm yourself down. You're only going to make it worse." The Elven girl's apology came with an odd notation. "Like me?" she repeated with her eyebrow still raised. The girl confirmed it was not meant offensively, but she could tell that by the bumbling manner in which this girl acted. It wasn't smart to try and offend someone that you were afraid of, so the girl's innocent intentions were noted.

And then, from a few feet away, a man decided to speak up. At first, Melinda saw only a man, but after a few moments of registering what she was looking at, she took note of the more beastly appearance the man had. She too was a little frightened by him and was about to take a few steps in the opposite direction, but felt two thin arms wrap around one of her legs, forcing her to stay still. "Hey, calm down." Melinda placed her hand down on the Elven girl's head and smiled at her, "If he does anything stupid, it's two against one. We could take him." Melinda winked a little and then looked back toward the newcomer, "Besides, he said he was here to help. Give him a chance, even if he looks scary beyond all reason." Melinda wasn't trying to be offensive, but it likely came off that way. Her tone was calm and collected, with a sweet harmony that danced along her words. She was a good woman by all means, and was not trying to fully judge until she got to know this young man.

The young Elven girl seemed to recollect herself and stood, giving a poor example on how well she was doing by stamping her injured leg. "That wasn't smart..." Melinda reached out and wrapped an arm around the girl's waist to prevent her from falling. The girl gave in and took the salve from the beastly man and began applying it the way it was needed. Seeing the Elven girl have a few problems, "Here..." Melinda stepped forward, took the salve and applied it for her. "There." she said as she finished. After a few moments, the girl seemed to be feeling better, though Melinda doubted the pain had completely vanished. The girl introduced herself as Xecty Ein, causing Melinda to tilt her head to the side in curiosity. "My name is Melinda, Melinda Lawrence." she replied and looked to the man, "And you are?"

"Besides, he said he was here to help. Give him a chance, even if he looks scary beyond all reason." Drake understood. Well, he kind of understood, at least. He knew that people weren't always excited to see him, mostly because of his rather rough and brutish exterior. It was generally safe to assume that, among all other things, Drake was a mean and nasty bastard who wanted to beat you up because you looked at him funny. At times, yeah, he liked giving off that impression. It wasn't often that people messed with him when he could cause them to cower with just a somewhat-disgruntled look. As a result, he really didn't do anything to try and stop people from thinking otherwise. However, there were a lot of situations where this exterior of his could either get him into trouble, or just generally make people afraid of him. Despite how he looked, Drake wasn't a huge fan of being hated--if someone was afraid of him, sure, but that fear tended towards hate a lot of the time from a lot of people. As a result, Drake was generally quite tender around people who he didn't want to scare--an image that was definitely unusual for someone so large and gruff-looking.

The girl originally attempted to make him think her ankle wasn't injured. Hah, you could try and fool Drake. Out of everybody he knew, he had always been attuned with nature enough to recognize injuries on any creatures--this included humanoids. When she stood up and fell back down, he held back a laugh on his impassive face. There was no need to embarrass the poor girl further, he knew. "It seems to have worked, thank you very much." He smiled softly, watching her after she rubbed the salve on her ankle, Of course it worked, he had been the one to whip it up. Now, if someone else had done it, they might've messed up. They might've used Nightshade instead of Cow's Horn, resulting in a salve which caused the flesh on her ankle to decay into a rotten mess within seconds of application. Very different thing--one that he didn't like to use often, but had saved him a couple of times. Rotten meat scares off predators, after all. Chuckling to himself, he stood up straight and stretched out, watching the pair with careful eyes. They didn't seem like poachers, or anything of the sort. The injured girl was an elf, the other one was not--something he could tell immediately.

"My name is Xecty Ein, nice to meet you." He nodded, waiting for the other to introduce herself first. She was the one controlling this situation, wasn't she? He shifted slightly, both the bow and greatsword attached to his back shifting with him and making metallic sounds against his limited armor. "My name is Melinda, Melinda Lawrence." Alright. He nodded to himself, placing his hands in his pockets and waiting--he was certain that they weren't going to address him. Why would they? He was scary, they'd wait for him to introduce himself right? He played the scenario through in his head. He'd give his name, and then he would be carefully ignored--that was the way these things always went down. He almost sighed audibly, when he was addressed. "And you are?" He almost didn't respond for half a second, not realizing that he was the one that had been addressed. When he realized that he was being spoken to by Melinda--he could tell because she was looking directly at him--he made a funny noise that sounded like a combination of a yelp and a whimper, before replying.

"Drake. Drake Grimm, at your service." The 6'2" Braukan bowed slightly, still maintaining eye contact with Melinda. He then turned towards Xecty and did the same, "Glad to meet ya." He grinned at her and straightened up, folding his arms and looking over them both, before scanning the area behind them. Generally, he'd have less words to give. But in this situation, he felt the need to talk. He hadn't had human contact in about five days now, which wasn't exactly a new record for him, but could be annoying when things arose like going stir-crazy. He never wanted to go completely bush--that would make things so much harder when it came to bartering and the like. "So what're a couple of lovely young ladies like yourselves doing so deep in the forest? Neither of you seem... equipped... for the daily life of a hunter, nor do either of you seem to be bush-crazy. It interests me." He chuckled softly, silently activating his Lifesense to keep track of anything within the forest around them. If anything approached, he'd know.

As Xecty attempted to escape to a safe distance the woman told her to calm down as it would make things worse. Well she was right about that. When Xecty accidentally said the potentially offensive comment, she did cause the woman to inquisitively repeat the words. "No, I swear that isn't what I meant. I wasn't expecting to see a human....ahh, that sounds bad too." Xecty took a moment, bringing her hands to her chest and lowering them to her waist as she breathed out. "Lets try this again." Before she could regain her composure completely though, she got startled by the scary looking man. Thus, the leg cling. Though the woman's reassuring words once more calmed her down. It felt strange, words of comfort weren't something she ever had directed at her. She recomposed herself upon hearing the woman's words. "I'm sorry, I'm just a little on edge I suppose." From there she did the foolish test on her leg. That was a bad idea. She proceeded to take the salve, and when she had trouble the woman actually actually got down and helped her. Help...this is what it felt like to have help. She got it from both this woman and the scary looking man, it was nice to have help for once and not be expected to deal with everything on her own.

From there, the woman introduced herself as Melinda Laurence. Definitely a human name, but she kinda liked it. Melinda went on to ask the man his name, to which he responded with a strange sound. "Begging your pardon, are you okay sir?" The man went on to introduce himself as Drake Grimm. What a...fitting name. Appearance-wise anyway, from what she had witnessed he was much nicer than his name and appearance would indicate. As Grimm bowed, Xecty bowed as well, though she went deeper and longer than his bow, as a sign of politeness. He promptly asked what they were doing in the forest, noting she wasn't equipped for hunting or...bush-crazy. "I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by bush crazy. I can't speak for Madam, but I live here. Or rather, I live near here. Actually...I've never left." Xecty left it at that and allowed Melinda to explain herself, or not explain herself, she didn't know yet. Xecty...well to be honest she was still a nervous wreck inside. Now however, it wasn't fear of being judged or harmed, but rather fear of doing something really stupid. She only hoped that the politeness would hold up and not collapse in on itself making her look like a fool. "Once again, I'm sorry I got so startled. Thank you Sir Grimm, Madam Laurence."

She was sorta temporarily happy, though she had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. Things seemed to be going well, except the ankle but even that didn't turn out THAT badly. Yet she couldn't shake the feeling that SOMETHING was going to try and ruin it. Unfortunately for her, those feelings were usually right. Granted, her life was just a string of misery so it wasn't hard for bad feelings to be right. Maybe she was just being pessimistic. Yet throughout the conversation, she couldn't help but keep glancing towards the direction of her village, which was to her left. If something bad was to happen, it's source was rather obvious to her. She glanced back to the two she was currently interacting with. "Am I to assume you are a hunter sir? It seemed implied by your previous statement, and the weapons on your back, forgive me for jumping to conclusions." She actually sorta had a lot of things she wanted to ask, but she didn't want to scare them away asking too much. She'd never left the forest, she didn't know much about the outside world. This was a pleasant start though.

This had to be the oddest little group Melinda had ever had the pleasure of being part of. Drake was frightening and beastly. Xecty was timid, shy, frightened, and seemingly fraile, while Melinda... Well, Melinda sort of considered herself the more normal out of these three. The fact that she considered herself normal meant something too. When the hell did that ever happen? Melinda was anything but normal, but with these strange two around, she could happily say that she was more normal than they were. "Bush crazy? It's like those savage crazy people who are so stuck in the wild they don't know the difference between a toilet and a tree." Melinda stated in a joking manner. From her understanding of "bush crazy", it was a person that is considered extremely uncivilized.

"An Elven Village is near here?" Melinda's eyes widened, a sparkle of excitement shining in her eyes. She wondered if she could see them. She had maybe met one or two before, but never an entire village. There was a time that Melinda thought Elves were just a myth or a story told around a campfire. "And I'm honestly just traveling from town to town at the moment. I have no reason to really be out here." Melinda explained, waving her explanation off as if it was nothing to care about, "You said you live near here? Is your home just a house in the forest, or is there an entire village somewhere around here? Also... It would be appreciated if you didn't call me Madam... Melinda is my name." she said as politely as possible, a metaphorical sweat drop falling down her forehead, "There is no need to be so formal." As Xecty began talking to Drake about his status as a hunter, Melinda looked off to the side. She tilted her head a bit, raising her eyebrow at something she saw, but then shook the expression off rather quickly. "Interesting..." she mumbled, but then spoke normally to ask a question that would likely throw them off, "Has anyone died around here recently, Xecty?"

He almost wanted to laugh at her comment on being Bush-Crazy. He opened his mouth in an attempt to explain it to the girl, when he was interrupted by the glasses-girl. "Bush crazy? It's like those savage crazy people who are so stuck in the wild they don't know the difference between a toilet and a tree." He chuckled and nodded, "Unfortunately, it's a little more insane than that. People 'ave been killed by those with the craze, simply for being civilized. It's a horrific thing t'see." He shook his head grimly, placing his hands on his hips. "Once again, I'm sorry I got so startled. Thank you Sir Grimm, Madam Laurence." His face stiffened, and he placed a hand over his mouth to avoid laughing, "Please, I'm not civilized enough to be referred to as 'Sir', even if your politeness requires it. Drake is fine."

"Am I to assume you are a hunter sir? It seemed implied by your previous statement, and the weapons on your back, forgive me for jumping to conclusions." He blinked and turned towards Xecty, opening his eyes slightly. How to answer that question... Drake was a hunter, kind of. Moreso that he simply lived off of the land more than most people, which gave the opinion that yes, he was a hunter. At the same time, however, he was a guardian of the forestlands. It was irritating. He tapped his chin and breathed out, "Hunter is probably the wrong way to go about it. Call me... a Ranger." He nodded and smiled gruffly at her until she asked another question, when the girl 'Melinda' said something that most certainly threw him off slightly, "Has anyone died around here recently, Xecty?" He'd caught no poachers, so he couldn't speak for anything. But her question most certainly intrigued him. Almost instinctively, he activated his Lifesense and started watching for anything approaching as they spoke. Seeking to complete the triangle, he decided to ask Melinda a question as well, "You're a little too well-dressed for these parts, are you not, Melinda? Do you seek something specific in these forests?"

Melinda went on to describe bush crazy, and "Sir" Drake went on to describe savagery. "Oh my." Was all she could say, hand over her mouth. Of course, if they only knew. They'd probably want nothing to do with her. She shook that thought from her mind quickly and moved on. She thanked them both, but quickly there was a rather strange response on "Sir" Drake's face. He corrected her, asking her to call him Drake. "Oh okay...D-Drake." Calling someone by their first name was something she had little experience with.
Melinda moved on to explain what she was doing out here, and it was something that didn't make much sense. Why would someone be out in the woods for no reason? Of course the world as she understood it was a much more restricted place, and in her head people weren't supposed to leave a village unless they were hunting or gathering. She wasn't sure if she should be frightened or curious, in her head probably both. Melinda asked about Xecty's home, but then quickly went on to ask not to be called Madam. Did she offend them? They both preferred using their own name, was she disrespecting their culture by being so polite. "O-okay...M-Melinda." Now she was a bit flustered and had forgotten about the question as to where she lived, at least for a moment.

She blinked a few times. "Oh right. I live in a village. Xecty Ein, h-head of the Ein clan, at your s-service." She stuttered a bit, bowing as she gave her choppy full introduction. It was quite obvious something was very wrong. Xecty was timid and generally easily frightened. She didn't seem strong enough to LEAD anyone. Coming up from the bow, her hands began to sort of play with each other, in the way someone does when nervous. After the introduction, Drake informed her he was more of a Ranger, which she had NO idea what that meant. This is where the strangest thing happened. Melinda randomly asked if anyone had died in the area. "Umm...has anyone died? My mother did somewhat recently...within the past month...why?" She was a little fidgety now, though she was fidgeting even before the question came up. She felt like she was making a ton of colossal blunders. Her body language wasn't helping, as she seemed slightly condensed, like she was trying to look small and less noticeable. She merely listened as things continued on from that point, unsure what to make of the situation anymore.
