Name: Rosalie Vivien Armstrong
ALIAS: Rosa; Vivi
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Height: 5'3
Weight: 133 lbs
Personality:
Rosalie wants one thing out of life, and that's to be like her mother. Her mother, Gertrude Lenora Armstrong, was a famous explorer. And Rosalie grew up listening to all of her mom's stories. And she fell in love with every single one. She read (and still reads) books about adventurers and has wanted to be one since she was a kid. The problem is... she isn't too good at it. No, this little lady isn't built for adventuring. She doesn't carry (effective) weapons, she doesn't have powers, she goes in alone, she's clumsy, etc.
The reason she doesn't carry weapons is because she isn't trained with any of them. Her mother was always away adventuring on her own and never had a chance to teach Rosalie anything of what she knew besides book-knowledge. Rosalie is, effectively, a support person. She won't be good at clearing a ruin of monsters, but she can see and identify traps and possibly disarm them. Rosalie can tie about any knot possible, identify a poison by taste, identify cultures by architecture and things of that nature, gut a fish, and other useful things. But Rosalie cannot swing a sword with any skill, move large rocks, or do anything physically intensive.
And that's about as far as Rosalie goes in terms of adventuring. She has only done a single adventure so far, and it has blown up in her face. Outside of being a wannabe adventurer... Rosalie doesn't do much. She reads about adventuring, reads about adventurers, and then reads adventuring gear catalogs. She wants to be like her mother so bad, she doesn't really know what else to do. She doesn't talk much to others, and doesn't do much socializing outside of buying gear from vendors.
Appearance
Appearance: Currently, Rosalie is stuck inside of a cursed suit of armor. The armor is far taller than she is (it's a full 7 feet tall), and the armor has forced her voice to be far deeper than it actually is.
- Spoiler:
Magic
Type: N/A
Description:
Combat
Equipment:
Adventuring Gear: Rosalie has standard adventuring gear. First aid kits, thermoses, etc.
Pocket knife: The only "weapon" in Rosalie's arsenal is a 2-inch-blade pocket knife. It's more for gutting fish and cutting ropes than for anything combat-related.
Armor of Walkelin the Devoted: This set of full plate armor is cursed by the man who killed Walkelin. The armor is massive and has a cursed helmet which hides the face and voice of the wearer until the curse is dispelled. The curse does allow the wearer to take care of bodily functions and keeps them alive and healthy so long as they remain inside. The curse forces the wearer to remain within until someone can dispel it. That type of person was rare in the old days, but nowadays it should be common. The armor has some other abilities, but they are locked so long as the curse is in effect.
Skills:
Knowledge—Dungeoneering: Rosalie knows quite a lot about things to do with dungeons and ruins and the like. Don't expert her to be able to put it to much use.
History and Roleplay Sample
History: There isn't much to say about her history. Eighteen years ago, the great adventurer Gertrude Lenora Armstrong stopped adventuring for one year. That is because she was pregnant with the child of Hampton Isaac Connell, who was also once a famous adventurer until he was wounded by a projectile in the leg. Hampton and Lenora were neither in a position to marry, so even though they had a child, they did not wed. Hampton raised the child while Lenora adventured to earn a living.
The child was Rosalie Armstrong, who took her mother's surname so that her mother could one day hold the title of "Mother of Rosalie Armstrong, Adventurer Extraordinaire." Lenora was proud to have a beautiful daughter which looked much like her handsome father. The one thing she had of her mother was her hair color—a deep black like the depths of the caverns she explored on a daily basis. Lenora would be gone for weeks at a time, forcing Hampton to survive on his own. And he did well, actually.
Whenever Lenora would come home, she would tell Rosalie of her adventures. She would warn her of the dangers she came across and explain the wounds she came back with. Unfortunately, with Lenora not there and Hampton's permanent injuries... there was not much practical training Rosalie could get. She could only get the knowledge, but that ended up becoming her weapon. She learned of poisons and basic survival techniques and of ancient cultures and rituals. But never once did she learn how to swing a sword or shoot a bow.
At the first break of winter in 500AE, Rosalie followed some of her mother's notes and went off to find a suit of armor within a forgotten burial ground. It took her a week of delving to eventually make it to the armor... And it made her so proud and happy that she forgot her training. She immediately went out and touched the armor, which forced itself upon her, encasing her in the massive steel cage...
