"Hocus Pocus" [Closed]

It was in the middle of the day and Luciana was avoiding as many spots in the town as possible. She borrowed a little extra money from a man a few weeks back and they followed her to this town. She probably shouldn't have paid him back with a fool's gold. Now, she was ducking in and out of alley ways and it was more than annoying. She thought she had shaken them when she turned a corner and bumped straight into one of the thugs. "There you are little lady." he said as he grabbed her shoulders. "Huh? Who are you?" she played innocent, but that didn't work. The man's hands tightened as she screamed at the top of her lungs. Out of fear of being apprehended, the man let her go and backed away. She smirked, kicked him in the groin, and ran off before he could retaliate.

A few of his men followed her as she ran through the streets of this smell town. It was difficult to run in heels, but she seemed to be a damn master of it. She turned down another alley on accident, the thugs on her heels. One of them charged. "Get out of my face." she said with her hand up. The man was instantly thrown back into his friends. "Move! Move! Move!" she shouted as she ran through them, each being tossed to the side as she darted passed them. "Get her!" one of them yelled as they recovered from her assault. She ran back out of the alley and turned only to run straight into a man. She didn't recognize him, but that didn't stop her from claiming him as hers. "Honey, help me! Please! These men are trying to hurt me. They've been chasing me all over town!"

"Move! Drop! Get out of my face! Go!" It didn't matter what spell she thought to use on this man because nothing would happen. Her lips were sealed with his and she needed to speak to cause the effect. Maybe one day she could make a few mental commands, but that is not this day. The kiss broken and the men that were chasing her had moved along. "Um..." was the first thing she said. He was strangely charming. She watched with wide confused eyes as he kissed her hand. Then as she regained her composure, she put her hand son her hips. "Well this was unexpected." she said with a raised eyebrow. "I was hoping you'd kick their asses, not steal my first kiss." She looked back away from him and narrowed her eyes. "Hm... I need to leave town." She mumbled as she brought her attention back to him. "Thank you for your... help." Luciana stepped around him and began making her way towards the end of the village. "Leon Amatria, was it? You should make it pink next time. Or make it blue. I'd make it green as well, but not everyone likes that in a kiss." He wouldn't be able to feel it, but his hair was now pink, eyes were blue, and his skin was now green. She gave a sweet smile and skipped off. She just loved playing tricks on people she met and Leon was no exception.

Luciana was almost at the end of town when she felt a hand wrap around her arm and stop her. She turned to see Leon standing there with the black cloak covering him. Her eyes widened, her body tensed, and a look of utter horror plastered along her features. Was this it? Did she finally end up playing the wrong joke on the wrong person? Her body trembled for a moment when she felt that odd pressure, but then he let her go and all that fear stopped. She blinked in confusion and surprise. "I'm... interesting?" Luciana repeated his sentence and then flipped her hair. "It took your skin turning green to notice that?" He explained himself and who he was. That name. It wasn't human. She almost felt like she heard it somewhere before, or maybe read it. "A... de-..." she stopped mid-sentence and shook her head. "Not possible. I thought the summonings were just myths of the big city? Are you actually one of them?" Luciana then realized that everyone around her was recovering from what he had done. It was then that certain men turned a corner and saw her again. "There she is. Get her!" They charged. "Put it back up! Put it back up!" she flailed her arms at Leon, hoping he'd do as she said.

Luciana instinctively clung to her rescuer when he picked her up. The pressure he put out was odd and made her feel heavy. Soon, the two of them were fleeing town. He was getting her the hell away from those bastards and so far out of town that they hit the nearest forest. She was set down and took in a deep breath, sighing in relief. "Thank you." Luciana smiled and put her hands on her hips. She was about to ask him what the other part of the deal was when he said it. Luciana's jaw dropped and she slouched forward, letting her arms hang lazily in front of her. "Wait... Really? Why would a demon want to go on a date with a human? I get why anyone would want to date me, but the racial thing has to be some sort of a problem... isn't it?" Luciana asked with a continuously raised eyebrow. "Oh... and... Here you go." Luciana snapped her fingers and the colors all went back to normal.

What he was saying was understandable and fine... Except one part. "Wait what?" she replied in the middle of his sentence, but he kept on going. Once he finished talking, she waved her hands in front of her. "Whoa, whoa, whoa... Children? So that's your game? You're just planning to fuck me? Once thing I do remember hearing about your race and Angels are the fact that they can't reproduce with humans!" Luciana crossed her arms and stomped her foot. "Now you listen here. I don't care if you're a demon, angel, vampire, werewolf, pixie, or whatever the hell else might actually be out in this damn world..." Luciana stepped forward and poked at his chest, "If I had known your intentions were going to be to use me, I would have just dealt with those guys myself!" She flipped her hair again and turned away, stomping off in anger. "Stupid demon... At least we can document their similarity to human men..."

Stuck. She was absolutely stuck. The brutal honesty was more shocking than anything this man had done. When he finished, she stayed silent and stared at him for a while. It took a minute for her to snap out of her daze, but when she did she took a deep breath and sighed. "Alright then. I guess it was part of the deal, wasn't it? Fine... I'll go to dinner, but understand this... I don't consider hunting and then eating around the fire a date. We're in the middle of a forest, the closest town is crawling with people who are hunting me, and the nearest town after that is Colburn, which isn't exactly a romantic spot... Unless you're a knowledge freak. So tell me, Leon... Where exactly do you plan on having this date? You say your paying. Fantastic, I don't have the money to get anything decent anyway."

"Are you sure you've come to understand the ways of this world?" Luciana asked rather bluntly, "You definitely got the deals and contract type stuff down, but you don't seem to know the ways of women at all." Luciana turned away from him and put one hand on her hip and the other in the air with her index finger up. "For one... It's stupid to mention children before you've even been on the first date." She put a second finger up. "And two, making a woman travel that far for a date at your home is not the best way to impress her." Luciana put her hands behind her back and turned back to him. "It seems you've only run into the trashiest of women in Aurora. A first date should be a public place with a romantic atmosphere, especially since we've only just met today! It makes it more comfortable, less creepy, and shows what kinds of things a man is willing to do to catch the eye of the woman he's interested in. Somewhere like a beach... a restaurant. But your home? I don't care how rich you are." Obvious lie. "The same way you could find some easy whore to randomly screw in an alley... I can find a rich man who is willing to spend a few extra dollars to get to touch these." She grabbed onto her own breasts and let them go, allowing a little bounce. "You've proven that yourself."

Luciana wasn't sure what she had gotten herself into. He stepped in so close. Her back ended up against a tree and her eyes wouldn't look into his. She couldn't. If she did, her face would turn too red for her liking. "That's something you learn over time." she said with her head turned away from him. "If we're going to go, let's go." The two began their way to Colburn. It wasn't going to be a short walk, but luckily it was a nice day. Over their two to three hour long walk to the city, Luciana made sure to ask her new found companion a few questions about himself. He had a bit of an ego, similar to her, so she figured that showing her interest would get a bit of information out of him. Questions:

1) How old are you?
2) Why do you need so many houses? Isn't that kind of a waste?
3) How many women have you been with?
4) I know little about Colburn, so you should pick the location by the way... Think on it while we walk or something.
5) What kind of powers do you have?
6) Do demons eat human food?
7) Are angels and demons actually at odds? Is there a secret war being fought somewhere?
8) What's your realm like? Why did you want to come to Aurora?

When the two arrived at Colburn, it was getting closer to the evening and the sun was starting to set. Luciana wasn't sure where she was going to sleep tonight, but with a single glance toward Leon, that became obvious. She was going to end up sleeping at his house anyway and only because she didn't have enough money to rent a room for the night. "God damn it..." she sighed and lowered her head in irritation. "Alright, so where to?" She stood up straight and crossed her arms, waiting for his decision.

Luciana wasn't familiar with some of what was on the menu, but she did find something simple to order. She was hungry, but she wasn't a pig and she wasn't going to use him like that. She kept looking over the street until he started asking her questions throughout their dinner. "So it's your turn to ask, huh? I wondered why you were so quiet on the road..." Luciana spoke up after he asked the first question. She shrugged. "I go by Grenier." And then she began answering the rest of them.

2) "I don't work." She just shook her head in reply to this. There was a look of shame on her face, but also frustration.
3) "I really only do minor things with the Arcane Arts... Otherwise I have no hobbies to really speak of."
4) "Um... I think I understand what you mean and I guess a night person? I've never really paid much attention to it."
5) "...Arcadia..." There was a strange hesitation here, like she had to think on how to answer. "Can't speak of one place."
6) "Just what stories tell me... Which really isn't much."

Luciana finished eating and placed her hands in her lap to wait for him to finish. She was suprisingly polite and well mannered at the dinner table. "I do appreciate this by the way..." Luciana spoke up, staring him in the eye. "I don't know what your intentions actually are, whether you've told me the truth, or whether you were sent by someone I've met before to apprehend me... Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if it was any of them... But I did enjoy the meal... and the talk. I don't get to talk to people very often." Feeling as if she said a little too much, Luciana looked back to the street and stayed silent.

"There's just one problem with that... I travel, a lot. I don't plan on stopping either. I won't stay in one place too long. It's, as you would say, boring." Luciana kept her hands in her lap and just stared at him as she talked. "I do appreciate this dinner and the offer, but staying with you is not what I will be doing. Now, if you choose to travel with me, that's a different story that is a bit more considerable." Luciana stood up and bowed politely to him. "You've now gotten what you want. You know things about me and have had dinner together." She stood up straight again. "I will be leaving now." She first took a step back from him, not wanting to suddenly be grabbed and stopped like he had done so easily two times before. "Goodbye, Leon." Luciana turned on her heels and began to exist the restaurant.

He was insistent, wasn't he? She didn't walk away yet. Instead, she kept her attention him and raised an eyebrow at his words. "No, no. Leon. You don't seem to understand what I'm saying." She tilted her head with a sly smirk. "I'm not staying with you. I'm not traveling with you and we aren't traveling together. You're the one that wants to be by my side, wake up next to me every night, right? That's fine and your decision. However... If there is any stipulation on what we are doing... You will answer with the fact that you, Leon, are staying with me, Luciana. You're the addition, the companion, the new part of this journey of mine...Not the other way around. We are not equals on the part." She stepped back over and poked his chest, leaning down and whispering into his ear. "You have to earn that." She brought her face in front of his and looked directly into his eyes with that sly smirk never falling. "Now... If you can accept that, I suggest we get goin'." She turned now and walked away.
