REAPER
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Aria was not the type of city that the Reaper felt comfortable in. In fact, it was one of five he didn't particularly care for. The other four were capital cities and Grandview. No matter what, the Reaper didn't like the thought of being shanked in broad daylight. That was something he rarely would see outside of Grandview, thankfully. The sun had just set, and a few shops still had lanterns lit to show their wares before closing. Bars and inns were just now lighting up. Their large signs glowed with Arcana. It was a marvelous thing, but Zakat had managed to do the same with gases and bursts of electricity. He didn't know what he found more impressive—the effort of one Arcanist or the effort of many engineers to make a single sign.
The Reaper was the type to make a commotion and cause stares, so he made sure to travel in alleys or on backstreets. He never once stepped foot on a main thoroughfare. It would be far too risky. His quarry, thankfully, was now taking a side street. She was a fair woman of about 30, and her white hair made her stand out in a crowd. It was very useful for him. He ducked into another alleyway and quietly made his way to the other side. He still followed her, and this side sitreet wasn't crowded. He decided it was now or never. He stepped out a few feet behind Lillianna, his footfalls only loud enough to be picked up casually.
"Lillianna Cascella," the Reaper called out a few feet behind her. His voice was monotonous, and far from threatening. But with the mask, it did sound eerie. As she turned around, the Reaper made sure that both of his hands could be seen at his side. "I require your assistance. You may call me J. I've been traveling with a young woman for some time now. We came across her two sisters, and they both attacked us. One of them got away, but the other we captured without much harm. She has... some sort of Arcane item in the back of her neck that we are afraid to tamper with on the fear of her life. I believe it might be some sort of mind-controlling device. But more than that, my partner... she was wounded gravely. I did my best to keep her from moving too much or opening her wound more on our way here, but she's at an inn now and I do not think moving her further will be a smart idea. Will you come with me to heal them?"
